This is in reference to two major incidents that is taking place in our country. First is the insanity that is going on in Maharashtra. Even though the municipal corporation ( Maharashtra) had decided to make it mandatory for all shows to have sign boards in Marathi, Raj Thackery and his party works decides that its his moral responsibility to forcible, by causing a lot of destruction, instill fear in the minds of people and make them change their sign boards. I am fed up blaming Raj Thackery so I am not going to do that now, instead I blame the police for its failure to do its duty. If the police cant protect citizens, the god help us all. No wonder why terrorists target our country so often. If people can get away with various crimes in broad daylight then there is no chance in hell that any one will be caught if things are done in a planned fashion. I can understand a riot happening once in a while or disruption of peace occasionally, but the MNS is a party that is causing harm to the citizens of India time after time. Its a shame that neither the election commission nor the law enforcement agencies nor the judiciary has done anything to stop this madness. The situation is setting a wrong precedent. Every single organization would think that to achieve its goals violence is the best way forward. Its a shame that the citizens of India have no guarantee of their security. This issue needs to be addressed as soon as possible before it gets out of hand.
The second issue is the communal violence that is happening in Orrisa. The VHP leader was killed and I dont know who killed him. But the killings done by the VHP is absolutely dis speakable. If they are so damn sure that some christian works killed them, why couldn't they have killed the works who committed the crime instead of going after innocent people. Burning a nun alive! what kind of country do we live in. After committing the crime VHP leaders are defending what they did. I would have had no problems with them had they killed the people responsible for the murder of their leader. This is just plane insane. One of the problems that lead to all this is the religious conversion which take place in Orrisa. The people who get converted are the poor and the downtrodden. Why are the Hindu organizations getting anxious about them only when they get converted not when they are need of help. The BJP is a party which if affiliated to the VHP and many of its top leaders are active members of the VHP. If the VHP justifies the killings then so does each of its members. Defending a crime and provoking people to commit crimes should be punished.
All these communal riots shows the weakness of our society. People don't even have the slightest of fear in taking the law in their own hands. There is no use talking sense with these law breakers because they have a very different agenda from what they preach. We should have stricter laws. The problem with our democracy is that too much power is there in the hands of the people, at least people with political backing. A serious introspection is needed and a solution needs to be found or else the whole nation will be burn in no time

ken it was some hindu woman who was burnt in that orphanage not a nun..
Minority thugs think that they can getaway with the murder of an 84 yr old swami by crying hoarse about "human rights" and "minority rights" while they dont respect the" Right to Live" of others, isn't it hypocrisy ???
you say that SC/ST people convert to christianity to escape from caste stigma....
Living in Kerala among "Syrian Christians"(who claim Brahmin Lineage) i have a deep insight into the social organisation of the christian community in kerala .
both you and i know that SC/ST converts face discrimination and caste stigma from the "Syrian Christians"...I have lots of Syrian Friends from Marthoma , orthodox , Kanaya and other Syrian Churches .....They show more derision and apathy to "Paraya","Pulaya" "Pentacost" Christians than a average Hindu . These "Syrian Christians" take great pride in asserting their Brahmin Lineage even though they r now non-Hindus .
This is a very important paradox, here we have progressive Christians being as casteist as their high caste hindu counterparts yet carrying out missionary and evangelical activities so that thy can convert more people and discriminate against the SC/ST christians even after they accept their religion.
SO what is the big social uplift that these people are getting???
" Jumping from frying pan directly into the fire"
True they get money and that too lots of it..normally each new convert "soul harvested" takes home an average Rs.20,000 tax-free cash .
So these people convert only for the cash which flows into the accounts of the self proclaimed messiahs from the sinners of America and Europe.
Did Jesus teach his disciples to "harvest souls " by buying them from a market??? This is nothing less than a new form of slavery , we can call it Economic-Religious Slavery .
Only morally bankrupt people will change their religion for money.
Who knows, next time if some Mullahs from Saudi come and offer them Rs.40,000 for each "soul harvested" they will readily fall for it and embrace Islam without giving Jesus Christ a second thought.
love you kenny boy..
no hard feelings ,correct me if i am wrong.
a leader was killed, that doesnt justify killing of innocent people. I got no problems if they went and killed the actual murders.
about the conversion, I dont know why people make such a big deal out of it. I never said after conversion the cast stigma goes. There hasnt been a single proven instant of proven forced conversion by Christians. Hence i dont think the rage shown by hindu groups is meaningful. Christians constitute a very small percentage of India and I dont c any problem with people preaching their religion. I believe the Hindu groups are paranoid that after a while all hindus will be gone or hindus will become a minority.
Using violence against who hasnt used violence is not justifiable or violence in general cannot be justified.
In india people have the right to follow the religion that they wish. If a set of people from the Hindu community converts to another community, may it willingly or with the use of money, why should Hindu groups gets angry. Do they want devotes who do not believe in Hinduism, it gives me the impression that all this fuss is made cause when the next census comes up hindu groups wants to see the percentage of hindus in India to either be same or increase. The whole concept of religion is being lost
Personally, i believe one should keep their religion to themselves.
The only reason i am blaming the Hindu groups is because they tend to use violence a lot which is not good for our country
